Arimatsu Shibori Workshop at Kyoto Amidaji Temple - Nov 27th

A Journey Through Time — Shibori & Botanical Colours
What if we could travel back in time through the language of cloth and colour?
On 27 November, we invite you to step into the world of traditional Japanese textiles at the historic Amida-ji Temple in Kyoto.
Guided by master Hiroshi-san of Suzusan and Casa Nakano at the dyes, we will explore the ancestral techniques of Arimatsu Shibori, including Tesuji and Tegumo, and rediscover the botanical colours that once brought life to fabrics.
Thread, cloth and plants will become our companions on this journey, connecting us to the knowledge, gestures and sensibilities of generations past.
Within the quiet atmosphere of the temple, tradition becomes something we can touch, experience and create with our own hands.
A rare encounter where ancient techniques and historical botanical colours come together, offering us a glimpse into the rich heritage of Japanese textiles.
Come and travel through time with us, one thread and one colour at a time.
We look forward to sharing this special journey into Japan’s textile heritage with you.
